About Nikkei Place


Nikkei Place comprises Nikkei National Museum & Cultural Centre (aka Nikkei Centre), Nikkei Seniors Health Care & Housing Society (aka Nikkei Home), Nikkei Place Foundation. These organizations are each non-profit societies and charitable organizations, with unique mandates; but we all work together as part of the Nikkei Place family, which also contains the gorgeous Nikkei Garden.


 

Nikkei National Museum & Cultural Centre

nikkeigarden0036Nikkei Centre is a multi-use facility at the corner of Kingsway and Sperling in Burnaby, BC. Officially opened on September 22, 2000, the Centre houses a Japanese Canadian cultural centre, the Nikkei National Museum, a community centre serving the neighbourhood, and a Japanese Canadian garden.

 

 

Nikkei Seniors Health Care and Housing Society

NSStenant02Nikkei Home is an assisted living facility for residents aged 55 and over that provides trained, qualified staff that offer personal support and care 24 hours a day.

New Sakura-so is a residence for independent seniors. Both facilities are owned and operated by the Nikkei Seniors Health Care and Housing Society.

 

Nikkei Place Foundation

The Nikkei Place Foundation is a charitable organization raising funds exclusively to support the continuing development of programs and services of Nikkei Place.  Through the generosity of its donors and supporters, funding has been provided to the National Nikkei Museum and Heritage Centre through the Legacy Endowment Fund to support the ongoing work of building a strong and vibrant community.
