What is 'Kizuna'?

Kizuna (絆) is a Japanese word with no true English equivalent. It refers to the reciprocal bonds and relationships that are formed between one another. These Kizuna workshops are a great place to learn and enjoy Japanese arts and crafts in an empathetic and respectful atmosphere. Newcomers are always welcome.

Yoriko is a contemporary artist, arts-based researcher and Japanese language and culture facilitator and educator sharing her works in academic and local communities with people who care about humanity. Her desire to connect with people harmoniously led her to focus on the kizuna concept/relationship since the Great East Japan Earthquake (March 11, 2011).

    You do not need to know anything about Japanese papercraft. Just come and enjoy what you can create with beautiful Japanese paper!
