2017 Summer Manga Camp

Monday, July 10 – Friday, July 14, 2017 | 9:30am – 4:00pm


Manga! Kids day camp is a fun-filled, week of authentic experiences in Japanese Culture, with a special focus on MANGA.

Manga is a very popular genre of illustration in the world of comics, originating in Japan.

Through daily workshops, established local artists will share their craft and guide the camp kids to produce their own manga!

The camp will also feature fun games and hands-on activities such as martial arts, ikebana, and tea ceremony by community artists and professionals.    

The program will run in English. Lunch is not provided.


Manga! Kids day camp is for nine to twelve-year-olds of all backgrounds.

The program is limited to fifteen children under the supervision of two staff and a number of volunteers.  

* Please note that we cannot provide personal care, administer medication, or provide one-to-one assistance on an ongoing basis.


Manga Kids Day Camp takes place in the beautiful building and well-groomed garden of the Nikkei National Museum & Cultural Centre, located in Burnaby at 6688 Southoaks Crescent, at Kingsway and Sperling.


Early Bird Fee (by April 30): Members: $190 + GST  (5%) / Non-Members: $200 + GST  (5%)

Regular Fee: (May 1-June 30): Members $200 + GST  (5%) / Non-Members: $210  + GST  (5%)
