Silk Handkerchiefs

Collections Assistant Mandy Choie introduces three sets of silk handkerchiefs in the Nikkei National Museum's permanent collection, from the Marie Katsuno fonds, Saito Family Collection, and an unknown source, respectively.

From 1943 to 1945, handkerchiefs were used as souvenir envelopes for letters written by interned Japanese Canadians to their friends and families.
