Japanese Design Today 100 Exhibit Opening Ceremony

On Saturday, May 7, the Japan Foundation's travelling exhibit “Japanese Design Today 100” opened at the Nikkei National Museum in the Karasawa Gallery. Kicking off the opening ceremony was our Director | Curator, Sherri Kajiwara, as well as NNMCC Board President Herbert Ono.

Additionally, the occasion included remarks from special guests Consul General Hatori, MLA Hon. Raj Chouhan, and Mayor of Burnaby Mike Hurley, a ribbon cutting ceremony, a shishimai dance performance by Vancouver’s Rakuichi group, and refreshments. A complimentary exhibit catalogue was also presented to attendees.

Thank you to the many guests for coming and enjoying the first day of the exhibit!
