Nikkei Garden Farmers Market is returning for its second season this summer! Stroll through the booths of fresh and locally grown produce, deliciously prepared food, uniquely crafted by local makers, all while enjoying the Japanese garden and its seasonal beauty. Last year, NGFM was a wonderful gathering place for friends and families all summer long at this relaxed Sunday location. Get your hands on Japanese/Japanese-inspired food and goods at this market located in the heart of Burnaby.

Kid’s Booth at NGFM
August 14 & 28 | 10am-2pm
Attention all kids, take a break and enjoy children’s activities and crafts at the kid’s booth! Enjoy activities such as face painting, bubble blowing, goldfish scooping, origami, traditional Japanese toys and more! Kids get to participate in a variety of engaging activities while enjoying the atmosphere of the Farmers Market.

Tea Ceremony and Demonstration
August 28 | Demonstration: 11am, 1pm | Ceremony: 12pm, 2pm
Enjoy the meditative pace and focus of chado at Nikkei Garden Farmers Market! Watch the aesthetic expression and demonstration of chado then join for the tea ceremony. Tickets will be on sale at the info booth at the market.

Burnaby Art Council | August 14
The Burnaby Arts Council (BAC) is a non-profit and registered charity located in the heart of Deer Lake Park. We host and sponsor a wide variety of community arts events from festivals, to live music and more. The BAC office is also home to the Deer Lake Art Gallery, a 750 sq. ft exhibition space, showcasing works by local Burnaby artists.
In the past 50 years, we advocated for the creation of urban art spaces across the city and continue to cultivate the Burnaby arts scene through exhibitions, festivals, and other programs. We aim to feature local, Burnaby artists and bring together people from diverse backgrounds under a shared appreciation for art.

Creme Brulee To Go is a Vancouver-based dessert shop. We locally source fresh and natural ingredients. Our products are handmade in small batches. We believe putting a little twist on tradition will give this rich and creamy custard-based dessert a redefining and flavourful experience. We offer a variety of assorted flavours and different toppings to choose from.
Cocoaro Craft Chocolate is chocolate with good heart, beginning with better conditions for cacao farmers and ending with an exceptional tasting experience. Japanese-Canadian chocolate maker, Margaret Inoue, crafts chocolate from bean-to-bar reflecting her values as well as an exploration of culture, nutrition and flavour.
Dried lemon slices beautifully crafted in a mason jar. The only ingredient is lemon! No added sugar or preservatives.
Fermented Oat Mylk & Amazake Smoothies in Vancouver
Dori Spicy Sauce is an oil-based sauce made with lots of crunchy and tasty ingredients such as fried onion, fried garlic, dried squid, sesame seed and almond. It is ready-to-eat, you can put it on anything you like such as ramen, fried rice, chow-mein, dumpling, even pasta!
Owner, and classically trained chef, Hope Yang started With/On with inspiration from his early years. Growing up in Southern California, Hope enjoyed homecooked Korean and Mexican dishes from amazing restaurants of the area. As a self-proclaimed food quality perfectionist, all With/On's kimchi's and bold sauces are handcrafted in small batches. Picchie Zakka makes Japanese culture-inspired fabric zakka(little things in your everyday life) using natural materials like cotton and linen. We believe what is good for you can be good for the earth as well and create these items that support your comfortable and sustainable living. Items include washable double gauze cotton masks, reusable Azuma lunch/market bags, Azuki bean-filled eye pillows/neck warmers. All items are carefully created locally using mostly Japanese fabric.

Meditating Bunny Studio Inc. is an award-winning boutique animation studio and children’s book publisher. The studio was founded in 2001 by Emmy® nominated animation and documentary filmmaker Jeff Chiba Stearns. The studio released Jeff’s first graphic novel, On Being Yukiko (2021) with famed Japanese Canadian artist, Lillian Michiko Blakey.
