Nikkei Garden Farmers Market is returning for its second season this summer! Stroll through the booths of fresh and locally grown produce, deliciously prepared food, uniquely crafted by local makers, all while enjoying the Japanese garden and its seasonal beauty. Last year, NGFM was a wonderful gathering place for friends and families all summer long at this relaxed Sunday location. Get your hands on Japanese/Japanese-inspired food and goods at this market located in the heart of Burnaby.

Burnaby Art Council | August 14

The Burnaby Arts Council (BAC) is a non-profit and registered charity located in the heart of Deer Lake Park. We host and sponsor a wide variety of community arts events from festivals, to live music and more. The BAC office is also home to the Deer Lake Art Gallery, a 750 sq. ft exhibition space, showcasing works by local Burnaby artists.

In the past 50 years, we advocated for the creation of urban art spaces across the city and continue to cultivate the Burnaby arts scene through exhibitions, festivals, and other programs. We aim to feature local, Burnaby artists and bring together people from diverse backgrounds under a shared appreciation for art.

As a self-proclaimed food quality perfectionist, all With/On's kimchi's and bold sauces are handcrafted in small batches. “Japanese Fabric Creations Shino” specializes handmade objects made with high quality Japanese fabrics. You can enjoy choosing from variety of Japanese patterns.

I sell cupcake soap, gemstone soap and other kinds of soap which I make from scratch. These soaps are fun and cute, more importantly, I have got lots of good feedback like it is very creamy and gentle to the hands. Newley added product, charcoal soap is super good. It is made from mostly olive oil and a touch of Tamanu oil. It cleans skin without drying out.

Karet Jewellery

Fascinated by the nature of my native land Hokkaido, Japan, I began creating “Karet Jewellery”. Each piece of jewellery is made using materials found all around us, such as leather, authentic flowers and antique watches. Which is what makes every design so unique. After I have moved, the breathtaking nature of British Columbia, Canada, inspired my work of art and expanded my style. And now, I’m happy to share my passion with you!

Our Story
In 2021, Nikkei Garden Farmers Market was established, hoping to engage with the local community during challenging times. Once again, this second season, we wish to connect with the community, promote local food, support local businesses and sustainability and contribute to healthy communities. Nikkei Garden Farmers Market has a unique Japanese twist where you can get Japanese vegetables, food, and crafty goods. We also partner with other organizations to build stronger relationships in our community. Please visit the community booths to find out what is offered locally.

Our farmers' market would not be here without all of you, vendors, volunteers and guests who are there to support not only us but also each other. We promise to continue striving to create a healthy community with you.
