Nikkei Garden Farmers Market "産地直送"

Stroll through the booths of fresh and locally grown produce, deliciously prepared food, uniquely crafted by local makers, all while enjoying the Japanese garden and its seasonal beauty!

The Nikkei Garden Farmers Market's first day will be on June 13, and the market will be hosted on the second and fourth Sundays of each month through October.

Nikkei Farmers Market is a member of the BC Association of Farmers’ Markets, BCAFM.

We're currently accepting applications from vendors who can further enhance the vibrant community. The venue is in the garden at the Nikkei National Museum & Cultural Centre.

Any vendors selling food must be well versed in and compliant with the BC Centre for Disease Control's Guidelines and must provide documentation of approval from Fraser Health prior to the market.

The Burnaby Arts Council (BAC) is a non-profit and registered charity located in the heart of Deer Lake Park. We host and sponsor a wide variety of community arts events from festivals, to live music and more. The BAC office is also home to the Deer Lake Art Gallery, a 750 sq. ft exhibition space, showcasing works by local Burnaby artists.

In the past 50 years, we advocated for the creation of urban art spaces across the city and continue to cultivate the Burnaby arts scene through exhibitions, festivals, and other programs. We aim to feature local, Burnaby artists and bring together people from diverse backgrounds under a shared appreciation for art.

Features unique Japanese vegetable seeds and seedling plants, along with our very popular gardening and cookbooks. In addition, beautiful handcrafted Japanese obento carriers, greeting cards, and three-layer silk masks and much more will be available. Proceeds from the market sales support the programs and services at Tonari Gumi.

Brave Child Farm

Brave Child Farm (勇子農園)is an ecologically run vegetable farm in Surrey, BC, focused on Japanese and other Asian vegetables. We believe in growing healthy food responsibility, in harmony with our natural environment.  We grow over 40 different types of vegetables and fruits in a small-scale intensive system; focusing on ecology, biology, and soil health.


A BREAD AFFAIR was conceived by a passion for great bread.  Our organic-certified artisan breads are lovingly made in small batches by the hands of our skilled artisan bakers, without preservatives, using slow fermentation to coax the flavours out of each and every loaf. Cocoaro Craft Chocolate is chocolate with good heart, beginning with better conditions for cacao farmers and ending with an exceptional tasting experience. Japanese-Canadian chocolate maker, Margaret Inoue, crafts chocolate from bean-to-bar reflecting her values as well as an exploration of culture, nutrition and flavour. When adding additional ingredients, we focus on the best ingredients, local and organic where possible.

Van Koji Foods

Since 2013, Vankoji has been producing and selling Shiokoji and other koji-based seasonings at craft fairs and festivals. Every year, sales have grown as more and more people from different nationalities enjoy this product in their everyday cooking.

Owner, and classically trained chef, Hope Yang started With/On with inspiration from his early years. Growing up in Southern California, Hope enjoyed homecooked Korean dishes and Mexican food from the amazing restaurants and taquerias of the area. A self-proclaimed food quality perfectionist, all of With/On's kimchi's and bold sauces are handcrafted in small batches. Meditating Bunny Studio Inc.

Meditating Bunny Studio Inc. is an award-winning boutique animation studio and children’s book publisher. The studio was founded in 2001 by Emmy® nominated animation and documentary filmmaker Jeff Chiba Stearns. The studio’s first children’s books, Mixed Critters (2018) and Nori and His Delicious Dreams (2020), written and illustrated by Jeff Chiba Stearns, feature diverse stories. The studio released Jeff’s first graphic novel, On Being Yukiko (2021) with famed Japanese Canadian artist, Lillian Michiko Blakey.

Making handmade natural skin products is my hobby, my passion. I spend my leisure time creating product recipes and designing all my packaging. While the 2 Karen’s and their families were camping at Crater Lake, Oregon, K2Creations was

Art of Soap
I sell cupcake soap, gemstone soap and other kinds of soap which I make from scratch. These soaps are fun and cute, more importantly, I have got lots of good feedback like it is very creamy and gentle to the hands. Newley added product, charcoal soap is super good. It is made from mostly olive oil and a touch of Tamanu oil. It cleans skin without drying out.
