Taiken Field Trip Reservation


Booking Details

  1. Programs are offered Tuesdays through Fridays (no availability on Mondays).
  2. Duration is 2 hours unless a Guest Speaker Add-On is requested and available (additional 30 minutes)
  3. Cost is $8.00 +tax ($8.40) per student. Guest Speaker Add-On is an additional $2.00+tax ($2.10) per student.
  4. For smaller groups, minimum fee is $120.00 + tax. If the minimum fee is a barrier, please contact us.
  5. Vancouver public schools in need of funding support are encouraged to apply for a grant from the Vancouver Heritage Foundation.
  6. Accompanying adults and supervisors are free.
  7. Programs must be booked at least 2 weeks in advance.
  8. Please plan to arrive 15 minutes prior to start time.
  9. We require 2 weeks' notice for cancellations. For cancellations with less than two weeks notice, we require 50% of your invoice by the scheduled tour date.
  10. All cheques are payable to Nikkei National Museum & Cultural Centre.
  11. We may take photographs of your group's Taiken visit for use in internal communications (eg. with staff, board, NNMCC members, and funding agencies).

Karaage Bento (A)

Bento Information

New menu for 2022! Enjoy an authentic Japanese-style lunch box that combines traditional and contemporary Japanese favourites.

Cost is $11.00 +tax ($11.55) per Bento. Any number of Bento can be ordered with your Taiken Field Trip.

Bento do not include beverages.

We are unable at this time to accommodate menu changes due to dietary restrictions.

Your order will be included on your TAIKEN Field Trip invoice.

Choose between Bento A and Bento B (Vegetarian).

Each bento contains:

Chicken Karaage (Bento A) OR Potato Croquette (Bento B)


Japanese-style “okazu” (sides), including:

  • Macaroni salad
  • Kinpira gobo (seasoned carrot and burdock root)
  • Japanese pickles

Sushi-style bento may be available upon request.
