日系祭り
We invite you to join us for a weekend of tradition, community, and joy. Nikkei Matsuri is one of the largest Japanese summer festivals in the Lower Mainland, and we are opening our doors to welcome everyone—from long-time friends to first-time visitors—to experience the heart of Japanese culture.
Event Schedule
- Sat & Sun, Sept 5–6, 2026: 11 AM to 7 PM
We are currently preparing a vibrant lineup of sights, sounds, and flavours for you to enjoy. While we are still finalizing the details, here is what you can look forward to:
- Live Performances: Our stage will host over 20 performances, including the powerful rhythm of Taiko drumming, graceful traditional dance, martial arts, and contemporary J-Pop.
- Community Dancing: At the heart of the festival is the Obon Dance. We invite all guests to join our circle as we dance together around the garden stage—no experience necessary!
- Tastes of Japan: Explore over 20 food vendors serving authentic festival treats. Enjoy everything from savory Okonomiyaki and Takoyaki to Okinawan noodles and Japanese baked goods.
- The Marketplace: Shop for unique artisan crafts, browse our used bookstore, or find a hidden gem at our "gently used" Japanese goods market.
- Family & Craft: Children can enjoy traditional carnival games like yo-yo balloon fishing and super ball scooping, or spend time in our dedicated arts and crafts area.
We encourage guests to wear their Yukata (summer kimono) to add to the festive atmosphere. If you don’t have one, we will have beautiful rentals available on-site so you can fully immerse yourself in the experience.
Ticketing & Updates Ticket prices and a detailed schedule will be updated as we get closer to the event.
