Experience the rich heritage, captivating sounds and craft of the shakuhachi in an engaging workshop featuring a master from Japan.

About the Shakuhachi Master

Miura Ryuho

Miura Ryuho, born in 1952 in Akita City, is a respected shakuhachi player and maker. He studied Kinko-style shakuhachi under Shoun Ohse and continued his studies under Ranpo Yokoyama and Katsuya Yokoyama. Miura Ryuho is highly regarded worldwide and currently serves as the Head of the Suizen Shakuhachido Tikuryukan. [三浦龍畝プロフィール] 1952年秋田市出身。琴古(きんこ)流尺八を大瀬昇雲氏に師事。日本楽器(現ヤマハ)勤務を経たのち、清水市にて横山蘭畝(らんぽ)・東京にて横山勝也の両氏に師事。また、独学で製管(尺八製作)を学び、世界的尺八家・横山勝也師の製管助手を務める。 「龍畝銘尺八」は現在、多くのプロ奏者に愛用され、ヨーロッパ・アメリカ・中国を始め世界中の尺八家に嘱望されている。 元弘前大学教育学部非常勤講師。吹禪尺八道・竹龍舘主宰。

About the Koto Player

Yoshiya Shizuga

Yoshiya Shizuga was born in Katagami City, Akita Prefecture, and began studying Ikuta-style koto music at the age of 8. In 2018, she received the title of Grand Master and has performed at various concerts and events. Yoshiya has also participated in international performances and studied under notable figures in the koto community. Additionally, she is involved in various music organizations and runs a koto and shakuhachi class with her husband, Ryuho Miura. [芳谷静賀(よしやしずが)プロフィール〕] 秋田県潟上市出身。8歳より生田流筝曲清絃会に入門。平成30年に大師範を授かる。各団体の演奏会に出演。海外では、イタリア・ウルビーノオペラ劇場にて清絃会親善公演へ参加。中国上海にて箏と尺八のミニコンサートを開催。生田流筝曲清絃会家元・足達清賀、副家元・市川慎(箏演奏家)、史導・田村朋賀の各師に師事。清絃会理事、shin合奏団団員。秋田県三曲連盟会員。夫・三浦龍畝と箏と尺八の教室を主宰。
