Broken Promises is curated by the Nikkei National Museum and the Royal British Columbia Museum in partnership with Landscapes of Injustice.
The Landscapes of Injustice (LOI) project thoroughly investigates the forced dispossession of Japanese Canadians coinciding with Canada’s participation in the Second World War. When the members of the LOI research collective drilled down through the rich and extensive academic findings, the key building blocks of the story emerged. What was taken and what was lost? Where did this all take place? Who were the key perpetrators? What are the lasting legacies?
